Joyful Song

Hello everyone!
It seems that lately the birds have special attention in my stitching.

A lovely blue bird surrounded by pink flowers…

More birds and a gorgeous tree…

The house took me some time to stitch and at the beginning I was not pleased with the colour, but in the end it seems that everything made sense and now I really like the effect of the colour of the house.

Design by Samplers Not Forgotten – Joyful Song.
Stitched on Newcastle Linen 40 count Lune argentée with the recommended Weeks Dye Works threads.

Thank you for your visit today!

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog!
Have a wonderful day!

June Berries

Hello everyone!
One more adorable stitched piece, just a simple little cushion.

This design is from the book A Fine Collection by Blackbird Designs called June Berries.
Stitched on 40 count Milk Coffee Newcastle linen with Weeks Dye Works and The Gentle Art threads. The chenille around the cushion is “North Pole” by Dames of The Needle.

I decided to change one of the leaves to green and also the flower stem to green too. I did used for both The Gentle Art Dried Thyme thread.
The beak of the bird is done in satin stitch with The Gentle Art Harvest Basket thread.
The legs of the bird are stitched in back stitch, I used The Gentle Art Wood Smoke thread.

I really love so much that blue bird, I had such a great time stitching it!

Thank you for your visit!
Have a lovely day!
Happy stitching,

1863 Honfleur Sampler

Hello everyone!

When trying to find a piece of linen large enough for a project I found this piece of linen with the copy of the design and the recommended threads for it.
I decided not to use the recommended colours and I opted for only a variegated red colour. And of course I decided to finally stitched it!

This design is from the magazine Sampler & Antique Needlework Quarterly – Summer 2011.
It is the “1863 Honfleur Sampler”, reproduced by Lorraine Mootz.
Stitched on 38 count Nacre linen with a lovely red thread by Atalie called Rouge A.

Please note that I’m not sure the brand of the linen, it can be a 38 count Sampedro linen (a portuguese linen) or a 38 count Sotema linen (a italian linen). I know for sure that I have it for more than 10 years in my stash.

I do really love this french red sampler! Look at that anchor! It is a symbol of hope!

I really miss the SANQ magazine! This issue have more two pieces that I would love to stitch!

Thank you so much for visiting!! Have a great June! Happy stitching,
