Knitting Update

Hello everyone!
I hope you all are doing well.

I have been knitting and here is some of my projects.

First is a hat for my husband. I did use a free pattern on Ravelry called Sockhead Slouch Hat, it is by Kelly McClure.
The fingering yarn is a navy colour by Retrosaria Mondim in the colourway 105 (100% wool) and I knitted the hat using a 3mm circular needle.

My first sweater/pullover! The model is free also on Ravelry, the Flax Light by Tin Can Knits.
It took me very time to knit, fingering yarn is lovely to work but on an sweater is so slow…
The yarn that I used is from Lana Grossa, Meilenweit Rustico in the colourway number 3805 (80% wool – 20% nylon) with 3mm and 4mm circular needles.

Amalia shawl by Lucía Ruiz de Aguirre, it is a lovely shawlette. I used two yarns held together, Isager Silk Mohair in the colourway number 0 (75% Goat – Mohair, 25% Silk) and Malabrigo Yarn Mechita in the colourway Pearl (100% Wool – Merino).

One pair of green socks, the design is Elven Woods Socks by This Handmade Life. I used Mondim yarn in the colourway 306 (100% wool) using a 2,50 mm needle.

My first toe-up socks! They are the Calcetines Cuqui by Sheep Days. The fingering yarn is a lovely blue by Greta and the Fibers Socks Premium (75% wool – 25% nylon).

Knitting is fun and I love it very much, but don’t worry, next post it will be a piece of cross stitch!

Thank you so much for visiting! Have a lovely day,

Some stitching and knitting

Hello, how are you? I hope you all are doing well.
This post should have been done in the beginning of September, but I had a family urgency.
My mother had surgery and I spent a few weeks with my father and then with both.
She had a great recovery. I am very proud and blessed for our public health system is able to deal with the pandemic and other medical care very well…

And now some stitching… this piece is an old work in progress by Gigi R…

Finally finished:

Design by GiGi R Designs – Elizabeth Precious 1817.
Stitched on 40 count Vintage Country Mocha with DMC and Gentle Art Threads.

Turned out very pretty and I am so happy that is finished!

Knitting… two pair of socks!

Pattern: MineCraft Socks by Heather Cox
Needle: ChiaoGoo 2.75mm
Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Rustico, Colorway 3811

Pattern: Conundrum Socks by Saffron Start
Needle: ChiaoGoo 2.75mm
Yarn: Colorway 104 Sphene by CoopKnits Socks Yeah!

Socks

Hello everyone!

My March and April socks, made for me.

The first pair of socks I did follow a free design at Ravelry called Hermione’s Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder. A really nice design, I enjoy it very much and for sure I will used it more times.

Yarn: Retrosaria Mondim in the colorway 205 Burgundy Speckle (100% fine portuguese wool).
Needles: ChiaoGoo 2.50 mm 9″ (23cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Collection and ChiaoGoo 2.50 mm 32″ (80cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Lace Collection.

The second pair of socks I follow a free design called Rose City Rollers by Mara Catherine Bryner. They are very cozy!

Yarn: Rosários 4 Meia Print in the colorway 119 Spring Garden (70% merino wool, 30% nylon).
Needles: ChiaoGoo 2.75 mm 9″ (23cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Collection and ChiaoGoo 2.75 mm 32″ (80cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Collection.

My problem with socks is picking up stitches for the gusset shaping, I take so long and they look so messy… Maybe with practice it gets better…

Thank you so much for your visit! See you soon!

Cowl, shawl and socks

Hi everyone!
This post contains only knitting!

The first project is a cowl that took me a long time to make… it is very warm and soft!

A free pattern by Ami Madison called Stacked Eyelet Cowl.
knitted using a circular 4 mm HiyaHiya Bamboo needle and Malabrigo Yarn Sock in the colorway 611 Ravelry Red (100% merino wool).

The second project is a shawl. It was so much fun knitting this piece, it is an asymmetrical shawl and very cozy!

A free pattern design by Amélia Alves called Quimera – Utopia Project 1st Edition.
knitted using a circular 3,5 mm Knit Pro Zing needle and BC Garn Silkbloom Fino in the colorway White (55% merino wool/45% silk).

Back in October browsing pinterest I found some articles about knitting socks on a very small circular needles ( 9″ – 23 cm needles) this made my curiosity increase about this method.
It didn’t take me long to find a youtube channel called “Simply in Stitches” and her 9 tutorial videos using a free design by Meaghan Schmaltz called My Favorite Vanilla Socks.
I purchased some different sizes of needles and sock yarn and I tried knit a sock!
Well the first sock went very wrong, I made a huge mistake because I placed the stitch markers on the wrong place! Sorry I don’t have any photo of this sock but this didn’t discouraged me, I learned a lot.
The only part that I don’t use a 9” circular needle is when I arrive to the section of “Toe Decreases”, I used magic loop on a 32″ circular needles.

Using the pattern My Favorite Vanilla Socks by Meaghan Schmaltz (The Unapologetic Knitter) and Tina tutorials (Simply in Stitches) I made a pair of socks for me (medium size) using Schachenmayr Regia Premium Merino Yak (58% merino wool/28% nylon/14% Yak) in the colorway Mineral Blue with ChiaoGoo 2.75 mm 9″ (23cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Collection and ChiaoGoo 2.75 mm 32″ (80cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Lace Collection.

Then I also made a pair of socks for my husband using the same design, large size and Schachenmayr Regia Premium Merino Yak (58% merino wool/28% nylon/14% Yak) in the colorway Anthrazit with ChiaoGoo 2.75 mm 9″ (23cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Collection and ChiaoGoo 2.75 mm 32″ (80cm) circulars needles from their Knit Red Lace Collection.

I do have another pair of socks (they are very addictive ) for me, almost done, but I will post it very soon.

My next post it will be a cross stitch finished piece! Stay tuned!

Thank you so much for visiting! Have a great day!
