1863 Honfleur Sampler

Hello everyone!

When trying to find a piece of linen large enough for a project I found this piece of linen with the copy of the design and the recommended threads for it.
I decided not to use the recommended colours and I opted for only a variegated red colour. And of course I decided to finally stitched it!

This design is from the magazine Sampler & Antique Needlework Quarterly – Summer 2011.
It is the “1863 Honfleur Sampler”, reproduced by Lorraine Mootz.
Stitched on 38 count Nacre linen with a lovely red thread by Atalie called Rouge A.

Please note that I’m not sure the brand of the linen, it can be a 38 count Sampedro linen (a portuguese linen) or a 38 count Sotema linen (a italian linen). I know for sure that I have it for more than 10 years in my stash.

I do really love this french red sampler! Look at that anchor! It is a symbol of hope!

I really miss the SANQ magazine! This issue have more two pieces that I would love to stitch!

Thank you so much for visiting!! Have a great June! Happy stitching,
