Hello!
How have you been? Last week was tricky with the heat wave, but now the weather has cooled a bit…
My blog was also down after an update that went wrong, so sorry for that.
So, let’s talk about stitching… I made these strawberries last month, but the last one was assembled today.
A photo with all the six strawberries:
To assemble the strawberries I used the instructions in the book, I used the instructions of a pattern by NikysCreations (Christmas Strawberry) and I take a look again on the blog Focus on Finishing tutorial “Strawberry Finish”.
Design by Blackbird Designs – Deck the Halls: “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” (left on photo) and “Christmas Cactus” (right).
Both strawberries are stitched on 40 count Newcastle Platinum linen with Weeks Dye Works threads.
Other materials: Burgundy WoolFelt, Evergreen WoolFelt, Thread Ring Daisy by Kelmscott Designs and hand dyed rick-rack Christmas Red by Barbaral Creations.
My favourite strawberry is “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”, I just love the house and the little reindeer. “Christmas Cactus” looks crooked on the photo… sorry about that, but in person looks much better! 😉
Design by Blackbird Designs – Deck the Halls: “From me to Thee” (up) and “Dancing Sugar Plums”(down).
Both are stitched on 40 count Newcastle Antique Rose linen with Weeks Dye Works threads.
Other materials: Burgundy WoolFelt, Plum WoolFelt, Thread Ring Daisy by Kelmscott Designs and hand dyed rick-rack Freezing Chocolat by Nina’s Threads.
Design by Blackbird Designs – Deck the Halls: “Christmas Visitor” (left) and “On the First Day of Christmas” (right).
Both strawberries are stitched on 40 count Newcastle Vintage Country Mocha linen with Weeks Dye Works threads and DMC.
Other materials: Burgundy WoolFel, Butter Wool by Blackberry Primitives, Thread Ring Daisy by Kelmscott Designs, hand dyed rick-rack Tweety by Barbaral Creations and white organza.
Another favourite strawberry is the “Christmas Visitor”, the white pelican is so pretty! And the poor bird “On the First Day of Christmas” was hidden with the strawberry leaf… 😉
Thanks so much for visiting! Happy stitching!
Lili
