Prairie Life Sampler

This beautiful sampler is a market Nashville 2018 release, since I saw it I decided that I needed to stitch it as soon as possible.

I finish this sampler a few days ago and I made some changes to the design, I leave out some elements from the original design (the names of the horses, the name of the dog and the gun); I also translated the quote by Laura Ingalls Wilder to my own language. The first part of the quote is not translated ("The real things haven't changed.") I did not have room for everything, but the rest of the quote ("Is still best to be honest & truthful to be happy with simple pleasures & have courage when thinghs go wrong.") is on the sampler.

Design by Heartstring Samplery - Prairie Life Sampler.
Stitched on 40 count Newcastle Morel linen by Sparklies with the recommended Weeks Dye Works threads.

The faces are stitched one thread over one, not very easy on 40 count, but I did it, and gives a nice effect! There are other stitching one thread over one -  the bear's head; inside the hoop, the letter L and the little heart and part of the fiddle.

I really love the border! Quite tedious sometimes, I manage this, stitching two rose flowers and some leaves and then stitching on the other motifs of the sampler.

What do you think? Do you think it's a nice tribute to Little House on the Prairie? I think so! I really enjoy stitching it! Now I need to find a perfect frame for this sampler!

Thank you so much for visiting! Have a lovely day and happy stitching!

Hi, I'm Lili! Welcome to my personal stitching blog! I love hearing what you have to say! Please come back again soon!

  1. Lili, I absolutely adore this sampler and the gorgeous job you did on it. I just heard that they are taking all the books written by Laura Ingalls out of libraries because they are not relevant any more. Are they kidding? Just read the lovely quote in your sampler…those values are needed so much everywhere. I was upset when I read they had done this. I’m definitely going to get this chart and stitch it too. It is wonderful and brings back such cherished memories of that great show. I met Michael Landon once and he was such a nice man too. Thank you so much for stitching this beautiful piece and sharing it with us. RJ

  2. It turned out beautiful!
I love this Sampler, it’s on my list.
    Great job.

  3. Oh how wonderful! Yes, this is perfect. Just a beautiful sampler for Little House On The Prairie. I loved that show. I watched it so much.

  4. Parfait Lili,

  5. I think it is lovely tribute to Little House On The Prarie,Lili.Your stitcing on 40 count is beautiful.I love the border.
    I love all of it💖😊

  6. Beautiful stitching Lili and I love how you changed the quote to your language so it is better suited for your home! It is gorgeous.

  7. How lovely, Lili! I think this sampler has so many cute motifs that honor the Little House on the Prairie books. I admire your ability to change and chart the words into Portuguese, too–that couldn’t have been easy! Congratulations on a wonderful finish!

  8. I am a lifelong Laura Ingalls fan and this is a great piece to honor those sweet books! It is just beautiful! Well done!
