Hello everyone!
I did not expect to take so long to update the blog…
Since my last post I picked a design by Heartstring Samplery.
Did not take too long to stitch it, but later I was lazy in the bird appliqué.
I also decided to back to an old work in progress that I’m almost to a finish!
I’ve been ill too and for last I stitched the new design called “Easter Hen” by Teresa of Primitive Acorns.
Here is my start on “Housework Is For The Birds”:
The piece without the appliqué:
I decided to use wool for the bird, the pattern called for a piece of cotton fabric for the bird body and a piece of felted wool for the bird wing. Now I just need to sew the wool and get this piece framed.
Design by Heartstring Samplery – Housework Is For The Birds.
Stitched on 40 count Oatmeal Newcastle Linen by Sparklies using threads from The Gentle Art and felted wool from Weeks Dye Works.
Thanks for visiting!
Happy stitching,
Lili

I’ve been missing your posts, Lili! So sorry you have been ill, but I hope things are improving now… Your new finish is so pretty and I love the idea of using the wool for the bird. Hope things are warming up over there and Spring will make an appearance very soon 🙂
Lili I missed you. I’m so happy to hear you are feeling better and hope you will be back to good health very soon. I just love your stitch…is is so pretty. That bird is so special. You have done such a wonderful job putting it together. This is a pattern I need to put on my wish list. Take care. RJ
This is such a lovely design and you stitched it so beautifully. And what a creative idea to add the appliquéd bird. It looks wonderful.
I hope your feeling better, sorry to hear you have been ill. I agree Housework is for the Birds!! I rather be stitching than cleaning and this is an adorable stitch! Nice work!! Mary
