Hello!
On Instagram they are a lot of stitchers that are making project bags.
Looks like the fashion tendence on the cross stitch world right now.
Years ago I made some of this bags, like this one. And this one is 100% hand made, hand sew.
So, why not try to make a project bag with zipper!
First, let me show you my stitching piece:
Design by Barbara Ana Designs – Strawberry Harvest.
Stitched on 40 count linen hand dyed by me with DMC threads.
A small piece, but very lovely!
And now the project bag:
I have my sewing machine since the end of 2014, and I learned to sew by myself (with some help of sewing tutorials on youtube).
I’m really very happy how it turn out. Is not perfect I know. I need to improve a lot.
Tutorials on youtube, if you want to try to make one of this bags:
- How to sew a lined Zipper Pouch–great for Beginners!
- The Zipper Pouch: An Easy Quilting Project Tutorial by Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Co
For the project bag I used two fabrics, a cotton stars/dots fabric and a cotton rose pink; white batting and a pink zipper.
It’ s all for today! Thanks for visiting!
Happy stitching,
Oh how sweet! And you know I LOVE the color! đ
I love your project bag Lili.It is a great way to finish stitched pieces..seeing yours is making me think about trying to make one myself.
So cute.
I love the bag. Nothing like something homemade. I think its quite lovely and unique with the pattern on it. Nice colors. You’re right everyone is attempting to make their own bags. Me included. I cannot sew. I have a friend who’s going to do one for me. I can hand sew but I doubt that would be good for a project bag. Anyway I love it. Great job!
It looks amazing Lili! Personally I think you did an awesome job on it.
Une pochette pleine de douceur Lili,
c’est tout charmant,et bien reussi!
La broderie est parfaitement assortie au tissus, merveilleux.
Amicalement
Belle journée

Your stitched piece is perfect for this project bag. I have two that friends made for me and I love them. But I am not good at sewing to make one for myself unfortunately!
Oh what a lovely project bag Lili! I think you did a wonderful job and this is such a useful project too. And, what an adorable pattern too RJ
I love your pretty pink project pouch, Lili!! You did a lovely job. I haven’t tried one yet, but it is something I hope to do when my sewing machine gets fixed!
